Passover

Passover today, and I got to spend it with Jordan's family. Like all the other holidays I've spent with them, this one was full of energy and laughter and joy 🕯️.

His whole immediate family came — his big sister and her boyfriend Steven, his second sister and her husband and their two toddlers. Ari remains very spirited and loud and fun-loving, with Steven being really good at playing with him — carrying him, flying him around, dropping him, turning him physically 😂. And of course his parents. I'm glad I got to be part of this.

Hearing about the Passover traditions, listening to them sing, looking at Jordan's old drawings of his mom — his mom proudly presenting them — all of it was really fun and wonderful 🎨. Apparently in the past the Passover dinner during their childhood was like five hours long with these long readings that were nerve-wracking for the kids, and I'm glad his mom has since changed the ritual into an abbreviated, fun version of it. Even little Ari knows how to sing now 🎶.

Dinner itself was great too. And yes — I am now in love with chocolate matzah 🍫✡️.
