Just Era One
Jordan and I went to San Francisco today. Along the way there was so much traffic it took us about 1.5 hours to get there, and about an hour and 15 minutes to get back in the afternoon. It was a lot. By the time I got out of the car I was almost nauseous lol.
But it was a good trip overall. I visited his workplace again — well, technically not his office, but the hotel downstairs, where I worked for a bit. I met his coworker Dakota from Kentucky, who seems really nice and kind. And I met up with Cody for lunch and bubble tea and we caught up properly. He went to EDC last weekend and got himself injured — bad scrapes on his right knee and hand — but he seemed to have a great time. Listening to him talk about the artists he likes and imagining how big and wild it all is kind of makes me want to see EDC for myself one day.
He also updated me on his emotional and romantic life, and I can only wish the best for him. I'm glad he's holding his boundaries up now and taking better care of himself. I really hope he finds his happiness. It's hard to date out here, for sure.
Anyway, I'm going to sleep soon. I did a lot of refactoring sessions today, focusing on making the game both more anthropologically realistic and actually shippable. Because I'm only giving myself Era 1 to ship now. I don't need to ship all five eras. Just one. And I can do that. Yes.
Reducing the scope is definitely the better move. For the first time in a while, it actually feels plausible.
